06-10-2020 Action for Rehabilitation from Neurological Injury (ARNI)

ARNI is for people of all ages who have had a stroke and/or other brain injury. It was formed in 2001 in response to the demand from patients who stated that they felt ‘stuck in limbo’ in the community. ARNI teaches specialist instructors and therapists up-to-date principles for evidence-based recovery and retraining modes (typically task-training modes, innovative physical coping strategies and strength/power development), then helps them to support survivors and families over the long term. There are some 150 ARNI Associate Instructors available around the UK, centrally controlled, who drive to peoples’ homes to rehab them on a one to one basis for whatever weekly frequency is mutually suitable and appropriate.
