Dr Christian Lambert
Principal Investigator
Christian Lambert is a Principal Research Associate at the Department of Imaging Neuroscience, UCL, and Honorary Consultant Neurologist in Movement Disorders based at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, UCLH. His principal research interest is how differences in brain cytoarchitectural structure contribute to the inter-individual variability observed in health and disease. He has a clinical interest in movement disorders, particularly Parkinson’s disease and related conditions. Currently he leads the qMAP-PD project, an on-going, longitudinal observational study seeking to help understand the causes of variability in Parkinson’s disease.
Charlotte Dore
Research Assistant and PhD student
Charlotte has worked as co-ordinator for the qMAP-PD study for over two years at the Department of Imaging Neuroscience. She is also a PhD student, aiming to understand mood symptoms commonly experienced in Parkinson’s, such as anxiety, and how these impact the problems of movement.
Joanne Thomas
Public Engagement Manager
Joanne is an engagement specialist, with experience in managing programmes, projects and events and creating high quality public resources. Her focus is to develop and deliver meaningful engagement practice, and communicate research in accessible and engaging ways. She currently supports over 120 researchers and clinicians, and specialises in providing support and building agency within both the researchers and the public and patient groups that she works with.
Joana Leitão
Former Communications and Engagement Officer
Joana was the Communications and Engagement Officer at the Department of Imaging Neuroscience. She supported the Public Engagement team in their engagement initiatives. After a PhD in cognitive neuroimaging and several years of research, Joana decided to explore research through another lens by contributing to public engagement with research activities. She hopes to thereby help narrowing the gap that exists between research and society.
Sian Rose
Former Communications and Engagement Officer
Sian was the Communications and Engagement Officer at the UCL Department of Neuroimaging. In this role, Sian supported the Public Engagement team with their many engagement initiatives and was responsible for managing the department’s website and social media channels.
Cassie Hugill
Former Public Engagement Manager
During the first phase of the project, Cassie was the Public Engagement Manager at the Department of Imaging Neuroscience. With over ten years’ experience in public engagement in research, she oversaw a broad programme of engagement initiatives focused on embedding public engagement into the research process. The Departmentʼs engagement programme aims to empower people with neurological and psychiatric disorders to contribute to and influence neurological research and rehabilitation.
